In our class we work on some key elements of reading:

 

· Decoding - Sound/Symbol  Associations

· Fluency – smoothness/rate

· Expression - feeling

· Comprehension - understanding               

 

 

We also practice writing skills.  These include:

 

· Penmanship

· Spelling

· Grammar

· Capitalization and punctuation

 

 

Remember that reading, writing, and speaking are all connected for effective language skills.

 

· What I say can be written.

· What I write can be read.

· What I read I can tell others.
